Denver, Arch of Welcome, 17th St, Denver Colorado, 1908

Size

In 1908, the Arch of Welcome in Denver, Colorado near 17th Street was documented in a photograph. Positioned near the station at the core of 17th Street, the arch prominently featured the word “WELCOME” on both sides. Unfortunately, the arch did not stay up due to the increasing size of vehicles, and increasing downtown traffic, and by 1931 it was determined to be a traffic hazard and was subsequently demolished.
