Hi! I’m Judy! Historical Pix all started when I retired from a career as a graphic/web designer and returned to school for a photography degree. We studied a lot of famous photographers and looked at a lot of photos. I was especially drawn to the older black and white photos from the turn of the century to the 1950s. I felt like I was looking through a window to the past - almost like time travelling! I love history and old photos, so Historical Pix was born! I got busy and spent a couple maniacal years curating and cleaning photos full time (and still do when I’m not making art). I chose familiar iconic photos, and lesser known photos that draw on emotions. While looking at Historical Pix photos, I hope you will be transported to a place you may be familiar with, but in a different time, and see curious people who looked at life a little differently than we do.
The Historical Pix studio is committed to quality. With 25 years experience in artwork preparation and an aim to produce high quality artwork. Each photo is evaluated carefully: dust, tears, stains, thumbprints and scratches are removed and the photo is optimized for exposure, luminance, clarity and contrast while retaining and enhancing the original details. And finally, we print on acid free quality paper using archival ink.
I love to connect people with their past. If you have photos you would like restored, please contact me via email so I can see how I may be able to help you.
